Micheal Tesch
Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach

Michael Tesch begins his first season as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach for the Blueboys in 2019.

A native of Voorheesville, N.Y., Tesch attended Hudson Valley Community College coming out of high school and was a team captain of the football team in his second season there. He went on to attain his Bachelor’s degree from The College of St. Rose in Albany, N.Y. and began his coaching career at Hudson Valley at the same time. Beginning with the 2013 season, Tesch was the Wide Receivers Coach for two seasons before being promoted to Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach for the 2015 and 2016 campaigns.

In 2017, Tesch accepted a position as Wide Receivers Coach and Academic Coordinator at the University of Charlestion, an NCAA Division II program in West Virginia. During his one season there, he also completed a Master’s degree in Special Education from Niagara University.

In 2018, Tesch went back to his home state and worked as the position coach for quarterbacks, tight ends and wide receivers as well as being the offensive coordinator for ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y. In his season with the Avengers, the team averaged 37.8 points per game, 470.8 yards per game to rank third nationally at the NJCAA level, and a 19:4 touchdown-to-interception ratio. ASA College set school records this past season for total yards per game and rushing yards per game (255.3).


Riley Reid
Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Line

Riley Reid begins his first season on the Illinois College coaching staff in 2019.

Reid has experience coaching at both the high school and college levels as he coached the offensive line at Lincoln Community High School in Lincoln, Ill. and tight ends last season with Briar Cliff University. During Reid’s time at Briar Cliff University he was a part of the first winning season in the program's history while he had two players named to the all-conference team.

An Illinois College alum, Reid graduated from the Hilltop in 2018. While playing on the offensive line at IC, Reid graduated with a bachelor’s of education with a focus in physical education. He started two years on the offensive line and was a part of the sixth-best red zone offense in the nation at the Division III level. In his time with the team, the Blueboys had 13 games of 200 rushing yards or more.


Mark Gyrion
Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Line

Mark Gyrion enters his 11th season as an assistant football coach at Illinois College. Gyrion is the father of former Illinois College football player Aaron Gyrion, a 2013 graduate. He works primarily with offensive linemen.

Gyrion is a graduate of De La Salle Institute High School and is employed at Concession Services Inc. as vice president of distribution.

Gyrion and his wife, Kimberly, reside in Lemont. They have four children: Megan, Adam, Aaron and Ryan.
